The iPhone 4S was announced at Apple's Let's Talk iPhone event on October 4, 2011 in Cupertino, California with the Apple iPhone 4S being the successor of the iPhone 4. This version of the iPhone provides support video calling (FaceTime) with an integrated front-facing camera and included an upgraded 8MP camera. The iPhone 4 still receives software updates from Apple. AT&T started initially as the exclusive carrier in the United States for the iPhone 4. In February 2011, Apple released a Verizon version of the iPhone 4 for the CDMA network. The iPhone 4 remains available for $99 and the iPhone 3GS is available for FREE exclusively to AT&T
History
Apple started taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S on October 7, 2011 in seven initial countries (United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan) first deliveries occurred in Germany a few days early, but the official launch date was October 14, 2011.
In October 2011, Apple announced the iPhone 4G and began shipping 16GB and 32GB versions of the "iPhone 4" currently available along with the new iPhone 4G as a premium model. The iPhone 3GS brand may be kept and reduced to an entry level 8GB iPhone as a "cheaper" iPhone version on AT&T only.
Apple sold more than 4 million iPhone 4S devices in the first weekend on the market. This is a new record for Apple’s smartphone. It took three weeks for Apple to sell 3 million iPhone 4 units, and it took 74 days to sell the first million units of the original iPhone.
For comparison, Samsung has sold 10 million Galaxy S II smartphones in the first five months on the market.

For example, iPhone commands such as "What is the weather going to be like?" will generate a response such as "The weather is to be cloudy and rainy and drop to 54 degrees today". These commands can vary greatly and control almost every section of the phone. The commands given do not have to be specific and can be used with natural language.
